Hi there! I’m Kassie.

I’m a Montana SWLC and owner of Ember Counseling, LLC. I graduated from Montana State University with my Bachelor of Psychology and from Capella University with my Master of Social Work. Under the supervision of Christine May, LCSW, LAC, I’m now providing 1:1 therapy services to teens, adults, and elder individuals. In addition to my therapy business, I’m on the clinical team with Catalyst for Change, a non-profit that works to provide mental health services to rural communities by way of virtual-meets-local Community Health Worker (CHW) Programs.

With strong Montana roots, I’m familiar with the unwavering resiliency and grit of Montana individuals and families. I am humbled to play a small role in the lives of the individuals with whom I work and to learn more about those who make up the vibrant, vast, and stunning communities where we live.

I’m passionate about the field of mental health and am eager to continue dedicating my career to eliminating gaps that would otherwise prevent individuals from seeking the help they need. My overarching goal is to make prioritizing mental health the norm and ensure all my clients know they are not alone.

Thanks for reading and remember this: you matter, your story is important, and there’s always light around the corner - even in your darkest days.

Meet Ember Jolene, the inspiration behind Ember Counseling’s name.

I’m a firm believer that dogs are man’s best friend. Dogs are a reminder of the importance of slowing down and knowing that happiness can be found in the simplest of moments - going for a walk, finding a new stick, playing in the snow, or when all your favorite people are in one room.

Just like my dog is for me, Ember Counseling is a space where I hope people feel unwavering support, stillness, and space to be fully and unashamedly themselves and learn to be more present in the here and now.
